A COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE MGBOWO TOWN HALL MEETING HELD AT THE CWO HALL ST. JOHN'S PARISH MGBOWO ON FRI,18th FEBRUARY 2022.
```▪️The meeting resolved as follows:
1. That the good people of Mgbowo should use this breakthrough initiative to engage in wider consultations to foster political education, sensitisation and better participation in the political process in Awgu and wider Enugu State.
2. That the already established rotational arrangement amongst the five villages of Mgbowo for the harmonious selection and subsequent election of candidates representating Mgbowo ward in Awgu LG Council be continued.
3. That the slot for producing the councilorship candidate for the upcoming February 23rd 2022 election fell to Ezioha Mgbowo and any candidate that is not From Ezioha Mgbowo is going contrary to the rotational agreement that has been in operation for over a decade.
4. Ndi Mgbowo earnestly appeal to the Enugu state Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) to live upto the expectations of an unbiased independent umpire by delivering all relevant electoral materials in time and also make necessary arrangements towards ensuring a free, fair, and credible election.
5. We implore all Mgbowo indigenes to eschew apathy and come out en-mass on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 to exercise their electoral franchise to select a candidate of their choice.
6. That Mgbowo is safe, secured and ready for the upcoming councilorship/chairmanship elections. We therefore urge all eligible voters to come out en-mass without fear of intimidation whatsoever from any quarters!
7. That in spite of the invitations extended to all political parties across Mgbowo ward, only the candidates of APGA and APC attended the debate while other political parties, including PDP chose not to attend the Meeting.
