Austrian Water Engineer, Mr. Mirror pays a visit to Mgbowo community, requests project drawings for the revival of Mgbowo Dam

An Austrian water Engineer Mr. Mirror accompanied by an Mgbowo son and the National Coordinator Christian Democratic Movement (CDM), visited the Mgbowo earth Dam project on 5th of March 2024.

This was contained in a report signed by the Ag Secretary Mgbowo Dam committee, Amb. Jeff Ndubueze.

In his briefing , the visit commenced with a courtesy call on Ohabuenyi 2, Igwe John Ibe's palace, where the visitors were warmly received by members of the Mgbowo Dam committee, MJCC, Ag PG Ekpulato,President-General Ezioha Mgbowo Development Union, and other dignitaries.

Receiving the visitors, the Igwe Ohabuenyi, HRH Igwe Greg Ituma, Onyima II of Mgbowo, in accordance with Mgbowo cultural norms of welcoming visitors offered  Kolanut and Akuru palm wine were  offered prayers over the Kolanut.


Mr. Mirror who was impressed with the facility's infrastructure and the sustainable water source, expressed optimism that the Dam could be revived and utilized for the benefit of the community.

During discussions, the Dam committee representative requested Mr. Mirror to consider the hydroelectricity component of the Dam project, highlighting the presence of a turbine.

Mr. Mirror acknowledged the request but noted that many components had become obsolete and may need replacement,  requested project drawings to determine necessary steps to achieve the set objectives.

Subsequently, the team visited the nearby Ekpulato Health Center, which, to everyone's dismay, was in a state of disrepair and dysfunctional.

In response to appeals by the EMDU president, Mr. Mirror pledged assistance in providing water supply and other resources to revitalize the facility.

"The tour concluded with a review of observations, comments, and additional information at Igwe's palace. 

"The Dam committee Chairman, follow proceedings closely by telephone, promised to facilitate the provision of project drawings as requested.

"With that, the meeting concluded on a positive note.

"Many thanks to everyone who contributed to making today's events possible.

"Indeed there is light at the end of what has been a very long and dark  tunnel for ndi Mgbowo.," Amb. Ndubueze Stated.


"God bless you all", he added.

On Friday, 1st of March, 2024, the Eziobodo Alaechara Mgbowo-born  philanthropist, a resilient youthful entrepreneur and ardent Mgbowol'ese cultural enthusiast cum strong participant and believer in the Mgbowo renaissance project, Mr. Akachukwu Esom Jr., stormed the "BOYS SECONDARY SCHOOL, MGBOWO", with his entourage in continuation of his pet project of giving back to the immediate society where he began his life's journey which culminated into a success story. 

Speaking after the quiz competition on Mgbowol'ese's History, Culture, and Practice, Barr. Chike Udeze Esq, who represented Mr. Akachukwu Esom Jr., charged the boys to emulate Mr. Akachukwu Esom, the likes of him, and other worthy Mgbowol'ese compatriots who lead lifestyles clothed with the ingredients of the ways of the founding fathers of Mgbowo, as he further urged the boys to take their studies very seriously and always imbibe in their daily lives, the dear culture of Mgbowo in order to excel in their respective future endeavors. 

Mr. Esom Jr. extended the same pledge he made during his earlier visit to the Girl's Secondary School, Mgbowo, to that of the Boys Secondary School, Mgbowo, noting that he is willing to particularly assist any of the boys even after their secondary school education who might not be able to further their studies due to unforseen circumstances. 

Items gifted to Staff as well as the deserving Students whose performances were brilliant at the quiz include;

(1). Android Infinix smart 8 web enabled phones to help the Students with further research needs in preparation for their WAEC exams, which is around the corner.

(2). Another category of Tecno web enabled phones for the second category of senior students who are also preparing for their WAEC AND NECO exams to aid their research needs whenever the need arises.

(3). Distributed food items included, indomie noodles and canned malt drinks to the general students and Staff, in the form of palliatives to ameliorate the harsh economic situation currently faced by citizens in Nigeria, especially in Mgbowo his Constituency.

(4). The benefactor's Company's branded materials such as shirts, face caps, etc.

The vote of thanks was given by the School Principal, Mr Okeke Livinus, a k a ( Baba) 08127675246, who lauded the zeal and passion of Mr. Akachukwu Esom Jr., and said a litany of prayers for him, as well as Gen. O. F. Azinta and other worthy Mgbowo Compatriots who in his words; "are always interested in knowing where, what, and how to assist the BOYS SECONDARY SCHOOL MGBOWO.

"We say may the Almighty God bless, protect, and keep Mr. Akachukwu Esom Jr, the likes of him, Gen O. F. Azinta and other worthy Compatriots who have highly impacted positively in Mgbowol'ese," he added.
