MGBOWO COMMUNAL RESOLUTION: THE RECENT MGBOWO TOWN HALL MEETING,AND THE TOTAL EXCLUSION OF MGBOWO FROM THE FEBRAURY 23RD LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION_MATTERS ARISING.

On Feb 18,2022, a group of well meaning and respected Mgbowo Indigenes converged at CWO Hall, ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC PARISH MGBOWO to deliberate on the following crucial matters pertinent to Mgbowo:

Security, Leadership,& Councilorship Election.

A debate was organized for councilorship candidates from different political parties, along other contemporary issues in Mgbowo.

Among the three political parties that are operational in Mgbowo, namely: PDP, APC and APGA,  were duly served invitation letters, only APC and APGA honoured the invitation, while PDP chose to ignore the invitation.

The failure by the dominant political party, and the party in power in Enugu state to honour the invitation, coupled with the deliberate act of not supplying electoral material to the exclusion of Mgbowo ward in the just concluded LG elections leading to the eventual declaration of result from the same ward where no election held triggered some yet to be addressed questions.

Such vexed questions includes:

{a} If the leadership, the constituted authority of Mgbowo community consented to the town hall meeting, and the PDP candidate actually meant to represent the interests of Ndi Mgbowo, how could they conveniently ignore the invitation of the same people they mean to represent, and went ahead to announce their candidate winner of an election that never took place?

{b}. Should Ndi Amadu Mgbowo leese allow this contempt to the entire Mgbowo community to stand?

We are of the opinion that Ndi Mgbowo should make a clear statement that Mgbowo people are yet to elect their councillor, as there was no councilorship election in Mgbowo on the 23rd of February 2022.

Any one who may parade him/herself as the councilor representing Mgbowo ward is simply an imposter that should not be taken seriously.

We are Mgbowo l'ese! And We will not accept any councilor we did not vote in Mgbowo; we can't identify with any councilor in Mgbowo who couldn't identify with   us during the well graced general Mgbowo town hall meeting, how much more one borne out of hotel room voting and spurious churning of imaginary results.

We stand on 'no election in Mgbowo, no councilor'.
